Cookie policy
Last updated: 2026-08-20
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones are used on apartamentosreyescatolicos.com and how you can control them. It is published in compliance with article 22.2 of Spanish Act 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). This is a courtesy translation: in the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. It is used to remember information about the visit: the language chosen, whether you have started a booking or how you reached the page. The same legal regime covers equivalent technologies such as browser local storage or tracking pixels.
2. Cookies used by this website
This is a static, informational website: it sets no first-party analytics, advertising, personalisation or tracking cookies. It does not use browser local storage to identify visitors, and it includes no audience measurement tools, advertising pixels or social buttons that load third-party content. Fonts are served from our own domain. The one exception is the map on the home page: when you reach that section, your browser downloads the map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap. They are images, they set no cookies and store nothing in your browser, but they are a request to an external server, which receives your IP address just as it would with any image download.
For that reason no consent banner is shown: there are no cookies requiring prior authorisation.
3. Third-party cookies in the booking process
Bookings are not completed on this website but on a booking engine hosted on an external domain and operated by a specialist provider. That service, and the availability widget that may load on the booking page, works with its own cookies — normally technical and session cookies needed to keep the search and complete the process — and is governed by the cookie and privacy policy of its provider, shown within the service itself.
The same applies if you visit our social media profiles or follow map links: from that point on you are browsing a third-party service with its own rules.
4. Types of cookies
So that you can recognise them wherever you meet them, these are the usual categories:
- By who manages them: first-party, set by the site you are visiting, and third-party, set by another entity through it.
- By duration: session cookies, deleted when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, which remain for a set period.
- By purpose: technical or necessary cookies, essential for the site to work and exempt from consent; preference cookies, which remember options such as language; analytics cookies, which measure use of the site; and advertising or behavioural cookies, which profile browsing habits to display ads. The last two categories require prior, informed and revocable consent.
5. How to manage or delete cookies
You can allow, block or delete the cookies stored on your device from your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may prevent some services, such as the booking engine, from working properly. The usual paths are:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode, which deletes cookies when the window is closed.
6. Changes to this policy
If analytics, advertising or any other non-essential cookies are added in the future, this policy will be updated and a consent mechanism will be put in place first, allowing you to accept, reject and change your mind just as easily.
